My name is Lam Thi Tuyet Suong, an alumna of DH16TP class, in the department of Agriculture – Natural Resources at An Giang University. I was among 44 female students who were lucky enough to receive the Teillon – Ludlow Scholarship from 2015 to 2019

In was born into a family with financial hardship, I know that only trying hard to study is the easiest way to escape poverty. At the end of my secondary school, my mother suddenly fell sick and passed away. Her death is the most painful memory in my life. Since then, my family has also struggled with poverty more as my father is the only person earning a living.

When I found out how much it cost to attend An Giang University, I was very worried and demotivated. Luckily, I was told about the Teillon – Ludlow Scholarship. The scholarship really helped me to pursue my dream, overcome difficulties and stay strong in the journey that I had chosen.

Being awarded with the scholarship was the best experience in my student life. The Program not only supported me financially, but it also gave me opportunity to learn from others, practice regularly and become more mature. I had a chance to meet new friends and create unforgettable memories with them as well. In addition, the scholarship program helped me greatly to improve my English and be prepared for my future career. I was very proud of being a member in the program, which always motivated me to persevere. I graduated with Good qualification as well as other accomplishments such as being “5 Good Student”, receiving the “Sao Thang Gieng” prize.

After graduation, I successfully got a job at Liwayway Vietnam JSC Binh Duong as quality control inspector. I will always try my best to complete tasks in the best way, as well as enhance my English profiency and take other necessary certifications.

This scholarship is extremely meaningful to me! I would like to thank Teillon-Ludlow scholarship for assisting me throughout the past 4 years.

To conclude the letter, I would like to wish Mr. Marc Teillon and Mrs. Meredith Ludlow, The Asia Foundation, and Center for Education and Development a lot of health, happiness and success in life. I hope that the scholarship program will grow stronger to be able to support as many disadvantaged students as possible.

Thank you, good bye and see you again!

Yours sincerely,

Lam Thi Tuyet Suong
