Interviewing students of Phan Thiet University

 On the morning of March 16, 2023, the delegation of AES and CED cooperated with the management committee of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Phan Thiet University to conduct an online interview via Microsoft Teams with students for the Energy Scholarship program. Future.

The academic year 2022-2023 is the 6th year AES supports the implementation of the Future Energy scholarship program. Details of the support program for the academic year 2022-2023 include:

  • Number of scholarships supported: 5 students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Phan Thiet University (each scholarship is worth 14 million VND);
  • Holding online student interviews;

Scholarship recipients:

  • 2nd and 3rd year students studying at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Phan Thiet University with permanent residence in Binh Thuan.
  • Students who are talented and express a passion and determination to pursue engineering, have an outstanding academic record. Passed the interview round selected by the selection committee including representatives ofAES-VCM Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd., representatives of the Center of Education and Development, and representatives of the school. The list of students selected to participate in the program will be sent to the schools after being reviewed ( the time expected is 1 week after the interview at the schools).

Prerequisites for selection: To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the criteria outlined in the application form and fulfill the following additional requirements:

  • Possess a valid household registration or residency in Quang Ninh province.
  • Exhibit a strong interest in pursuing a career in the energy industry.
  • Have a clear intention to work in Quang Ninh province upon graduation.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the scholarship provider, AES.

Rights and responsibilities  of scholarship recipients:

Rights:

  • Receive a scholarship valued at 14 million VND/year/student during the academic year 2022-2023;
  • Participate in online soft skills training activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate fully in all program activities;
  • Achieve the required score for the program;
  • Maintain communication with the program throughout the scholarship period for academic updates and for 2 years following graduation for employment updates.

Scholarship awarding process:

  • The school widely informs about the scholarship program and students apply through the online application form provided by CED. Based on these applications, CED will prepare a list of student interviews;
  • The University’s Review Board will conduct interviews with eligible scholarship candidates.;
  • Based on the classification of applications and interview results, the University will collaborate with CED and seek advice from AES to finalize the list of students who will receive scholarships..

Profile of students participating in the program:

  • Students selected to receive the scholarship will submit a set of documents at the Student Affairs Office of the university. After receiving qualified applications and collecting records from students, the University sent them to CED. The application includes the following documents:
  • Application form for a scholarship;
  • Curriculum vitae with photo and local certification;
  • A statement of family circumstances certified by the local authority;
  • Notarized copy of household registration book;
  • An academic transcript with GPA of 2.5 or higher (GPA out of 4) or 7.0 or higher (GPA out of 10) during the academic year prior to applying for the scholarship;
  • Sponsorship confirmation minutes;
  • Certificate of image use.

Time:

  • The time to enter the online form to register for the scholarship is expected from January 5, 2023, to the end of January 31, 2023;
  • The expected time for interviewing students is the 3-4 week of February, 2023;
  • The expected time to receive applications at the Student Affairs Office is expected in the first week of March 2023;
  • The scholarship awarding ceremony is expected to take place at the end of March 2023 (in conjunction with the UPT event).

Cooperation with Universities:

CED will sign cooperation agreements with participating schools to support and cooperate with CED to effectively implement the following activities:

  • Disseminating and promoting the Future Energy Scholarship Program among the university’s students and faculty members using official channels, such as announcement letters, the school’s website, bulletin board, forum, etc
  • Communicating about the program so that students can register online for information to attend the program;
  • Organizing student interviews at the university, inviting faculty representatives to participate in interviews;
  • After the interview results are available, the University will receive scholarship applications from students who are subject to the Future Energy Scholarship Program and send them back to CED;
  • Coordinating with CED to organize the Scholarship Award Ceremony at an appropriate time;
  • Cooperating and supporting CED in organizing project activities such as training, exchange, extracurricular activities, etc… to improve knowledge and skills for scholarship recipients of the program for the duration of the scholarship;
  • Appointing 01 officer in charge of the scholarship program (The university sends an official dispatch to appoint staff to participate in the scholarship program, including: full name, title, address, bank account, personal tax code, citizen identification number).
