On the 8th and 9th of October, representatives from the Centre for Education and Development (CED) and The Asia Foundation (TAF) worked with the Nam Dinh Association for Promoting Education on problems related to scholarships for students in the 2017 – 2018 school year.
In the 2017 – 2018 school year, TAF, the CED, and the Nam Dinh Association for Promoting Education will grant 114 scholarships to female students attending secondary schools and high schools in the province, who come from disadvantaged backgrounds but have high academic standing. Members of the meeting also attended the event “2000 scholarships corresponding with 2.4 billion VND including 1000 bicycles for poor students from Nam Dinh province in 2017”.

(Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, a representative of The Asia Foundation is providing scholarships worth 456,000,000 VND to the Nam Dinh Association for Promoting Education in 2017).

On the 9th of October, CED representatives attended “The Fifth Summit of Nam Dinh Association for Promoting Education in 2017 – 2022.” They received the Third Labor Medal for the second time. The meaningful contributions of the Nam Dinh Association for Promoting Education over many years were demonstrated through the higher average grades of students in the region. They were recognized and honored by the Party and government for making positive contributions to the development of Nam Dinh.

In the afternoon on the same day, CED and TAF representatives held a meeting and interviewed two students, who would be granted TAF scholarship.
