(Ha Giang Province) Last weekend The Asia Foundation and the Center for Education and Development collaborated with Hau Giang Association for Promoting Education, to organize the Asia Foundation’s Scholarship Ceremony and Career Orientation for the Academic Year 2017 -2018. This program contributes to expanding the rights and opportunities for girls in disadvantaged areas to develop and improve their lives through their study.

There were 60 scholarships each worth 2 million VND, awarded to 60 female students in 12th grade from upper secondary schools in the province; they were also offered support for 6 months. This was the 2nd awarding scholarship by Asia Foundation for the year that was sponsored by FOTAF. Since 2008, the Asia Foundation worked with Hau Giang Association for Promoting Education and awarded a total of 1.611 scholarships to qualified disadvantaged female students with a sum of over 2,4 billion VND.
The Asia Foundation and the Center of Education and Development also organized a seminar in career orientation, sharing experiences and skills necessary for students.
