To create an environment for students to express their thoughts, aspirations, and problems in study and life, as well as to equip them with basic skills to balance personal relationships and their focal occupation goals, CED collaborated with the Office of Student Affairs of An Giang University to organize a counseling program, “Balancing study and love”. According to the objectives and requirements of the program, the Office of Student Affairs contacted a speaker who was suitable for the topic. They also assigned staff to prepare, organize, and support throughout the program.
On August 5th 2022, the speaker of the program was MA. Tran Thi Huyen – Vice Dean of Educational psychology major – Education faculty – An Giang University. The main subjects of the program included: Conducting a fun survey on students’ relationship status; Defining a “perfect lover”; Arranging the love process; Discussing balancing study and love; “How to flirt with love” activities; “Magic box” counseling activities.
The thing that stood out most to students about the program were: flirtatious sentences are romantic; that teamwork is so much fun; the tea break food was delicious; the program is exciting; the counseling activity “Magic box” is very useful.
The suggestions from the students to improve the program were: to create more entertaining games, and that the speaker still used old concepts.
The advantages of the program: We always receive the support of An Giang University administrators, the Center of Education & Development as well as the Asia Foundation in launching training skills programs for female students who received the scholarship; the university always provides equipment and provides a suitable environment; the staff are supportive, enthusiastic and friendly; students can easily share their thoughts and interact with the staff during the activity; students follow team facilities’ guild. The program went smoothly and all set goals were achieved.
