Awarded scholarships to 67 disadvantage female students in Can Tho

(The representative of Can Tho Association for Promoting Education awarded the Asia Foundation’s scholarship to 67 disadvantage female students)

On April 1st, The Asia Foundation and The Center for Education and Development worked with Can Tho Association for Promoting Education to organize the scholarship ceremony for disadvantage studious female students in Can Tho city, and to counsel students about career orientation.

67 disadvantaged female students received the Asia Foundation’s scholarship that is worth 4 million/student/year.

Since 2004, the Asia Foundation awarded 978 scholarships to disadvantaged students in Can Tho with a sum of approximately 3,3 billion VND.

In addition, the Asia Foundation also supported disadvantaged students with school bags, clothes, English – Vietnamese dictionaries, wheelchairs, presents for birthday and New year.

Moreover, the organization’s committee also collaborated with the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication of Can Tho University and entrepreneurs, to converse with students to give them advice and career orientation.
