The Asia Foundation/TAF continues to sponsor the Center for Education and Development (CED) to support the Merali Foundation Asia Foundation scholarship program (term 3) for the 4-year and 5-year term starting from January 2021. The program selects and awards scholarships to 15 first-year female students studying science, engineering, technology and math at Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. These are female students who, despite having a difficult family background, have the commitment, passion and drive to study science, technology, engineering and math – the majors that male students often dominate.

The scholarship will support 23,000,000 VND/year/student and support skills training, experience activities, and career connections during the scholarship period. Selected female students will be supported during 4-5 years of studying at Hanoi University of Science and Technology and University of Civil Engineering until graduation, if they ensure to maintain their academic achievement of Good or better (or a 2.5 GPA) per academic year.

On May 22, 2022, the Asia Foundation and CED cooperated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering to organize a training program on presentation skills for 15 students who received scholarships from the Asia Foundation of Merali Foundation, cohort 3.

Purpose: Training in presentation skills to help students be confident in presenting and communicating; Students in the scholarship program have the opportunity to interact and connect with each other.
